Radio Aerial

First job was to fit an adapter cable to allow the radio to connect from DIN to ISO.

The image below shows the adapter cable connected to the existing aerial lead.

Really did not want to feed in the new lead from the new aerial. The image below shows the old aerial cable running through a sealed off hole in the bulkhead. Thought best not to disturb this.

Decided instead to cut the old cable in the engine bay and fit an inline waterproof connector. Managed to source one of these from Maplin - Code FJ76H

So, time to remove the old snapped aerial.

Leaving a typically Land Rover simplistic hole in the aluminium body.

Then prepare the old cable for the inline connector. The central signal cable being ridiculously thin and the job turning into micro surgery.

However, all went well in the end ready for the new aerial.

New aerial fitted and looking much better. Ended up making good use of a set of bent nose pliers for the rather interesting nut on the topside of the aerial fitting.
